Fairbanks Ranch Country Club 
 

Fairbanks Ranch Country Club opened with a bang as the host for the Equestrian events of the 1984 Summer Olympics.The new Club attracted many young members. In 1986, seeing a need to support the more senior golfers, Jim Stockwell, a lawyer and long-time member of Los Angeles Country Club, formed a group of approximately 30 members who would enjoy playing golf together.

Jim’s successors built on what he started by recognizing (1) the enjoyment and camaraderie in playing golf together and traveling together to different golf destinations; (2) that golf is and should continue to be played by gentlemen; (3) the importance of including spouses in our travels and (4) that the management of the group should be kept simple and focused on the enjoyment of its members.These have become the principles and pillars on which Los Señores operates.

The Los Señores emblem, includes the FRCC logo of a hunting horn and crossed golf clubs) is displayed above. If you look closely at the emblem you will notice the initials “OK”, which stands for “Old Knockers”.

 

The group meets the second Thursday of each month for lunch and golf, cocktails and dinner. Additionally, the members may participate in two couples golf trips each year (spring and fall), the annual Member-Guest Tournament, and a Holiday Season dinner-dance.

 

More than 30 years have passed and the sands of time have caught up with most of the founding members, all of whom have established deep friendships throughout their time in the Group. Recognizing the aging of the group, a number of years ago a conscious effort was made to recruit younger members to ensure the continuing vitality of “Los Señores”. That process is now well established and the current “Los Señores” family is positioned to continue sharing good times for many years ahead.
